About Glasswater Surf School

Glasswater Surf School is a boutique, women-founded surf school on the bluff above Cardiff State Beach in Cardiff-by-the-Sea (Encinitas, CA). Founded in 2017 by Kaia Nakamura, a former WSL qualifier and ISA Level 2 coach, we keep classes tiny (max 4 students per coach) so first-timers actually stand up and intermediates actually improve. We teach year-round at Cardiff Reef and Seaside Reef depending on swell and tide. Offerings: First Wave private lesson (90 min, $145), Semi-private for 2 ($115 each), Grom Club for kids 7-14 (Sat/Sun mornings, $65), Women's Sunrise Sessions (6:15am, $85), 3-day Glide Camp ($395 incl. board+wetsuit+video), and Video Coaching add-on ($40, GoPro + slow-mo review over coffee). We supply soft-tops from 7'0" to 9'0", 4/3 and 3/2 wetsuits, and reef booties. Every session ends with tea and a tide chart lesson at our little shack.
